Semiconductor Probe Assembly

The full-automatic probe assembly Machine

Before it appears, man and woman put hours and hours, siting in front of a microscope, eyes with anti-glare glasses staring at those tiny parts, use micro tweezer carefully pick up one part and try to insert in a golden tiny tube, failed, try again, failed too. Usually they fail 2-3 times before they can successfully insert a tiny spare part into another. It's not hard to imagine the poor speed and yield. That's the production process of ultra thin spring probe before. From the picture below, one would know why it was so hard and painful to fulfill this kind of work.

Probe tube diameter:15um

To solve this problem for semiconductor probe producers, Insight Scientific developed the fully automatic spring probe assemble and inspection equipment. Feed the incoming parts from one side, you get finished and quality checked spring probe with a speed of UPH 720. This was the world class leading technology been put into applications in this section for the first time, and it was an outcome of a vital competition with global automation players from Germany, Sweden and US. It's an fair example of high precision control and visual inspection.

What's so special?

Full-automatic

•  All four components are placed into the assembly machine separately and the machine automatically sorts and assembles them.

•  The entire process employs many vision inspection and monitoring devices to insure quality and yield.

•  Final visual and force tests are carried out for each assembled product.

•  An OEE system is implemented for real-time tracking of equipment performance and connecting with corporate database/MES system.

•  Assembly accuracy 10um.
